Classes at The Art Center

At the Art Center, we are proud to be the home of Precision Alignment Yoga™! This style of yoga uses a variety of  props and our newest additions, the Great Yoga Wall in order to help students practice each posture safely and effectively. Instructors Betty Larsen and Sharon Coogle individualize instruction to increase students' ability while respecting physical limitations. We offer courses from beginning to intermediate yoga, and at a variety of times throughout the week to suit your needs.

Precision Alignment Yoga™  Intro / Level 1:
Instructors: Sharon Coogle & Betty Larsen

Improve strength, balance, flexibility; increase range of motion while learning fundamental yoga poses. The safe, effective practice of this gentle, anatomically based style of yoga uses props such as blocks and chairs to make yoga accessible to all.  Personalized instruction respects individual physical conditions.

Precision Alignment Yoga™ Level 1:
Instructor: Sharon Coogle
For students with some yoga experience, an opportunity to increase strength, flexibility, balance and mental acuity through asana practice that integrates movement with mindful breathing. Additional benefits include improved emotional well-being and possible mitigation of anxiety, insomnia and chronic pain.

Precision Alignment Yoga™ Level 2:
Instructor: Betty Larsen
Go more deeply into the practice and philosophy of yoga. Precision Alignment Yoga™ Level I or comparable experience is recommended.

Precision Alignment Yoga™ Basic/Recuperative
Instructor: Sharon Coogle

This class is designed for people who have postponed starting a yoga practice for years or for those whose practice has lapsed due to illness, injury, or simply to life’s demands. The safe, effective practice of this gentle, anatomically based style of yoga uses props to make yoga accessible to all. Come up the steps to the studio slowly, sit comfortably and enjoy the empowerment and rejuvenation that yoga may offer. Personalized instruction respects individual physical conditions.

Precision Alignment Yoga™ Restorative Yoga:
Instructor: Sharon Coogle
Restorative Yoga allows the practitioner to enter a state of deep physical and mental relaxation. Although some yoga experience is helpful, no level of  ability is required. Extensive use of props and supports will help every body attain positions that encourage restoration. Please dress warmly and wear socks. Bring a small blanket or throw to cover your body during deep relaxation. If you have your own yoga props, please bring your strap, blocks, bolsters and blanket.
Limited class size.
