Youth Art Classes

The Blue Ridge Mountains Arts Association provides our local youth with opportunities to learn, grow, and play in the arts! Year round, we offer one-on-one arts instruction in painting and colored pencils with our Art by Appointment Program, which provides a good foundation for students looking to immerse themselves in creating their own art. In our upstairs dance studio (complete with dance bars), we host lessons in ballet, jazz, and tap for students of varying ages. For the musically inclined student, we offer weekly music lessons in piano, guitar, and mandolin! Getting your child involved is a simple process, and starts with a simple call to the Art Center to find out what is available for the season.

In mid-June to mid-July, the Art Center has the great opportunity to host Summer Youth Art Camp, a 3-week schedule of art classes for children ages 6-14 in many different mediums. All our students will spend time with kids of a similar age group and learn a variety of mediums such as sketching, painting, music, and yoga! The full Summer Youth Art Camp schedule will be unveiled during the opening of our Youth Art Month Exhibit on February 25, 2021 (3:30-5:30pm).

As a community-oriented non-profit, we want to make sure every child has access to the arts. Visit the Scholarship page to find out what may be available to your family to make the arts a part of your child's future.
