Summer Youth Art Camp
Week 1 Classes

Campers will love this first week of camp searching  for Animals in the Wild.  Students will explore the world seeking wild animals.  This Half Day Camp provides children with  creativity and different art mediums.  Our Campers will participate in  3 quality art classes: clay, drawing and fiber arts.  The Campers will have short breaks between classes.    We will have a mini art show on Friday to showcase the art created that week at camp.  
 
 Classes are organized by age: Mini Monet (ages 6-7) , Petite Picasso (ages 8-9) , Rising Rembrandt (ages 10+). 
​ Ages 6 - 14 welcome. 
​
Lunch will NOT be provided
May bring snacks if needed
Don't forget your mask!

 Half Day Camp Tuition will be $120.00 





Classes:

Animals in the Wild in Weaving
June 15-18, 2021
Week 1- Tuesday-Friday, 4 days
9:00 am – 1:00 pm
Instructor: Robyn Czyscon
Ages: 6-14
Young Campers will make stuffed birds using simple sewing, create a mane for a lion into a wall hanging and stick critters. These fun projects will teach students how to knot fabrics and increase their dexterity.  Ages 8-14 will be illustrating a story about animals.  Students will paint on fabric and frame the story quilt with fabric squares.  If time, students will create geckos and snakes out of fabric and yarn.

Drawing Animals in the Wild 
June 15-18, 2021
Week 1- Tuesday-Friday, 4 days
9:00 am – 1:00 pm
Instructor: Kim Hamby
Ages: 6-14
Campers will have fun and learn colored pencil techniques including pressure, pencil strokes, layering, blending, and shading etc.  Each day there will be a different drawing from mystery drawings to wild animal print projects.  Some of the subject include sloths, lion, birds, giraffe, elephant, panda, fox, deer, chipmunks and owls.  This class is geared for all ages and challenges the student to be creative and use their imagination.

Animals in the Wild with Clay

June 15-18, 2021
Week 1- Tuesday-Friday, 4 days
9:00 am – 1:00 pm
Instructor: Luce Van Asten
Ages: 6-14
Campers will create a range of small animals by sculpturing using various hand building techniques.  Each age group will build different animals including frogs, cats, elephants and an animal of their choice. Campers imagination and creativity really come alive while working in clay.

Daily schedule will include:
   9:00am - 10:10am - Class 1
 10:10am - 10:20am - Break
 10:20am - 11:30am - Class 2
 11:30am - 11:40pm - Break
 11:40pm - 12:50pm - Class 3
 12:50pm-   1:00pm-  Wrap-up/ Pickup

The Programming Coordinator is in the office from 10 am - 6pm on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday.
