Some previous watercolor experience is recommended for this workshop. In this workshop, the instructor shows how to alter and adapt your reference photo to your own creative vision by preparing a preliminary sketch to plan shapes, values, and colors for a good composition. Some of the techniques shown are how to change and modify elements in a photo for a more creative painting. The instructor will show designing principles to build a strong composition, how to select good color combination, how to transfer your sketch to a painting surface and how to see and sketch basic shapes and values. When ready to paint, the instructor is available for consultation on painting techniques and painting sequences. Student’s supply list includes a bag lunch, several 5X7 or 4X6 printed photos. All other supplies will be provided by the instructor.
