In this one-day workshop, students will learn techniques for creating “snowflakes” from stained glass. The result will be a stained-glass creation from 5”-8” in diameter, which can be enjoyed all year-round. Participants will be able to select pre-cut geometric shapes from a variety of textures of glass and add glass gems to fit between the points, focusing on the stability of the structure of the glass snowflake. Students will learn techniques used in the copper foil of the stained-glass process including, design, foiling, soldering, setting hangers, applying patina and glass polishing. The instructor will supply the stained glass, foil, tools, grinder, soldering iron, solder, patina, and glass polish. The student’s supply list includes personal safety glasses, medium black sharpie, and wearing closed heel and toe shoes. This is a fast-paced workshop full of information and fun.
