Fearless Watercolor: Painting Rhododendrons
April 18, 2021, 1 Session (Sunday)
2:00 pm-5:00 pm
Instructor: Joyce Clair
Class Fee: $45.00 non-members + $15.00 Supply Fee
$40.50 BRMAA members + 15.00 Supply Fee
After some practice exercises, the Instructor guides you step-by-step to sketch and paint an 8X10 floral painting of rhododendrons. A loose impressionist style is encouraged rather than a botanical accuracy. The student will learn tips on sketching, composition, color, and values. Each student will gain skill in a variety of painting techniques and how to fix mistakes. Some of the basic painting techniques demonstrated are wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry, lifting, splattering, painting hard and soft edges, color mixing and a variety of brush strokes. Previous watercolor experience is helpful but new beginners are welcome. Painting supplies, a 11X14 mat, and watercolor paper will be supplied by the Instructor for this painting project. This is a great class to acquire techniques for painting watercolors.
