10:00 am-12:00 pm
Instructor: Carol Crawford
Class Fee:   $50.00 non-members
                     $45.00 BRMAA members
In this Virtual class, Students will create a road map for their writing.  Students will learn how to nail down the focus of memoirs or a nonfiction book and learn how to build scene upon scene in a compelling and readable way.  The Instructor will discuss how to find the heart of your story, where to start, where to end, what to leave out, and how to provide context and color.  If time, students will read in-class writing exercises in this interactive class.  The intended project is creating a “road map” document that identifies the students’ project focus, parameters, trajectory, contents, and ending.  The Instructor will discuss techniques identifying the focus, boundaries and arc of a nonfiction work. Students will write introductory paragraphs and will be offered a half hour follow-up phone call with the Instructor after the class concludes.  Students must summit an email upon registration for link to class.
