Pencil Drawing: Shapes, Values, and Detail

Instructor: Holly Viccaro
Class Fee: $45.00 non-members + $15.00 Supply Fee

               $40.50 BRMAA members + $15.00 Supply Fee

Take the first steps to learn how to draw using pencils with artist and instructor Holly Viccaro. Students will learn the steps to create a still-life drawing using a fruit bowl. Techniques that will be covered are values, shading, highlighting, and cast and core shadows. A set of 12 sketching pencils will be provided to each registered student as part of the supply fee. The continuation of learning to draw will be on perspective and offered in the second quarter 2025.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: HOLLY VICCARO

     My name is Holly Viccaro. I am a recently retired high school Art teacher. I enjoy drawing, painting, and I do a variety of other arts and crafts.
     I am a member of the Plein Air Painters of Hiawassee as well as a number of other art clubs. I teach drawing and painting classes to adults and children in Murphy, North Carolina, and in Blue Ridge, Georgia.    
​     My work is on display and for sale in a number of boutiques and wineries from Hiawassee, Georgia, to Blairsville, Georgia, as well as in the Art Centers in Blue Ridge, Georgia, and Murphy, North Carolina.
