Design and make a one-of-a-kind piece of mosaic jewelry and learn some new mosaic skills from a master jewelry artist. Explore the fine art of mosaic using many unique and beautiful tiles, 24K gold Crystals, semi-precious and precious stones from around the world. The intended project gives the student a selection of extensive choices of bases and materials to choose from including pendants, earrings and bracelets. The student will learn cutting techniques; use various tools for mosaics planning at executing an art piece as well as learning about the adhesives for mosaics. All supplies are included in the class. Students need to bring safety glasses and wear closed toe and heel shoes.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Karen has always been an artist... Mosaics found her back in 2002 with a bag of glass and a pair of nippers. Passionate about them from the start, she immersed herself in the study of traditional mosaics and has created hundreds of mosaics using varying styles and techniques. She has attended the Society of American Mosaic Artists conference 12 times as well as being a corporate member, and has studied from some of the best mosaic artists in the world while attending. Her love for mosaics comes from the varied styles, techniques and materials that you can achieve.
Karen is both a lifetime student and teacher, as well as a mentor to over 19k members in the Mosaic Mentoring Facebook group that she started in 2015. She has also won awards and has been published many times.
She has worked with many groups of kids and adults creating community mosaics over the years and enjoys teaching in her new location of Canton, GA
