How Not to Write-Virtual Only

Beginning & Intermediate
October 2, 2021- Saturday, 1 Session
10:00 am-12:00 pm

Instructor: Carol Crawford
Class Fee:   $50.00 non-members
                     $45.00 BRMAA members
In this Virtual class, students will look through the eyes of a book editor and see many of the same mistakes over and over.  The Instructor will give some short in-class exercises that will equip the student to send out clean, readable copy in their next submission. Students will learn how to spot and correct 10 common errors made by even experienced writers and in turn will give the student work clarity and impact.  Some of the technique covered include meeting the demands of your genre, setting the reader in time and space, creating narrative tension, and avoiding misplaced modifiers, passive voice, flabby verbs, sock-puppets dialogue, boring sentence patterns, word swaps, and point of view mistakes.  Students must summit an email upon registration for link to class.  Limited space available, please sign up early.

Call (706) 632-2144 for questions regarding this course and registration.  Payment is required to register for BRMAA courses. You may pay via PayPal above, over the phone, or visit The Art Center located at 420 West Main Street, Blue Ridge, GA 30513 to pay in person.
