During 5 one and a half hour sessions, participants will learn approximately 150 words associated with season and activities throughout a school year. This sign language vocabulary-building course is designed primarily for parents, teachers, bus drivers, and school personnel working with young children who are deaf or who have developmental disabilities. Participants will also explore a number of on-line sign language resources. Students can purchase an American Sign Language Book.

The Programming Coordinator is in the office from 10 am - 6pm on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTORS
Becky Ferrell holds two degrees in a Master of Education degree in Educational Interpreting and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology: Deaf Studies, both from the Temple Tennessee University. She started her a part-time career as an American Sign Language teacher with online courses for Piedmont International University, NC. She works as a missionary for two summers at Camp SummerSign (CSS) – Brentwood Baptist Deaf Church (2010-2011). She loves teaching ASL and working with children. Now, she makes her home in Blue Ridge with her husband. Her heart is to reach people and share love in this community and to help them to learn American Sign Language to communicate with others.
