This two-day lighting workshop is designed for DSLR photographers interested in the use of on- and off-camera lighting as well as modifying natural light. Students must have an understanding of photography basics (predominantly exposure) and a knowledge of camera function. Projects to be completed in class will include on-camera lighting for macro photography, natural lighting for food photography, off-camera lighting for product photography, and constant lighting for portrait photography. Students must bring their camera, a charged battery, a memory card, and their camera’s manual to each class.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Joyce originally studied photography at the University of Florida School of Journalism and worked as a newspaper photographer and reporter before moving on to magazine editing and freelance writing/photography. After moving to the North Georgia Mountains and being inspired by the surrounding beauty, Joyce decided to focus on nature photography and has shown her work in local and regional galleries as well as at juried fine art shows throughout the Southeast.
Joyce teaches photography and digital imaging classes and leads photography workshops in Georgia, North Carolina and Tennessee. She has self-published two textbooks on photography and one collection of her work. Joyce is a founding member and past president of Blue Ridge Mountains Photographers (BRMP), past board member of the Blue Ridge Arts Association, and former show director for the BRMP National Juried Photography Exhibit.
