ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Jon recently moved from College Station, Texas, where he taught physiology and bioengineering courses for 35 years. Following his retirement from the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at Texas A&M University, he has devoted countless hours attempting to learn photography and to capture the wonder and amazing beauty of birds and other wild animals.
As a relative newcomer to photography and the Blue Ridge Mountains Photographers Guild, he has been eager to learn from his fellow Guild members and has been just as eager to impart what he has learned thus far about wildlife and sports photography. Jon previous lives have included brief careers in engineering, aviation, and medical research.
Jon and his wife, Jan, have been married for 49 years and are the proud parents of one son, two daughters, and one, soon to arrive, grandbaby. Their retirement cabin is atop Fox Mountain in Cherry Log, Georgia.
