This class is an introduction to acrylic painting. Students will explore elements of painting design, fundamental materials and different surfaces. Intended projects start out with 4 to 5 8 X 10 paintings on canvas boards. All students will learn abstract and realistic approaches, composition and depth, as well as, thick versus thin painting techniques. Bring reference material so that you will have the freedom to paint the subjects you enjoy the most. The supply list will be provided upon signing up for this great class.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Lisa Fraker is an artist and instructor originally from Marietta, GA. She has an MFA from the University of Wisconsin in painting and drawing. She has taught college courses in drawing and art appreciation for 6 years. Other teaching includes private instruction, adult outreach through the University of Wisconsin and Blue Ridge Community College in Brevard, NC. As an advocate for the arts Lisa has been a volunteer instructor at various non-profit organizations throughout the years.
Recently she traveled around the country painting desert landscapes in western Colorado and California. She specializes in watercolor, gouache, acrylic and some printmaking.
