Have the photographer’s eye but you’re lacking the camera know-how? Joyce Dumas is offering a course in basic DSLR photography, covering exposure, lighting, composition, and camera function. Students will be working hands-on in the classroom to account for changing lighting situations, function in different modes, and compose an interesting shot. This 4-week course requires you to bring charged batteries, a memory card, and your camera manual to every class. Stop standing on the sidelines and get shooting!

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Joyce originally studied photography at the University of Florida School of Journalism and worked as a newspaper photographer and reporter before moving on to magazine editing and freelance writing/photography. After moving to the North Georgia Mountains and being inspired by the surrounding beauty, Joyce decided to focus on nature photography and has shown her work in local and regional galleries as well as at juried fine art shows throughout the Southeast.
Joyce teaches photography and digital imaging classes and leads photography workshops in Georgia, North Carolina and Tennessee. She has self-published two textbooks on photography and one collection of her work. Joyce is a founding member and past president of Blue Ridge Mountains Photographers (BRMP), past board member of the Blue Ridge Arts Association, and former show director for the BRMP National Juried Photography Exhibit.
