Learn to write true stories with techniques used by fiction writers to keep readers turning pages. Write a personal essay or a mini-memoir in this writing-intensive class. Get great feedback from instructor and group. Students will learn dialogue, pacing, characterization and setting to make stories come alive. The students should bring a computer or a notebook and pen. Come be creative and learn a new form of art!

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Carol Crawford is the editor and owner of carolcrawfordediting.com. Carol has been teaching creative writing for two decades. She is the author of The Habit of Mercy, Poems about Daughters and Mothers, and has been published in the Southern Humanities Review, Appalachian Heritage, the Concho River Review, the Chattahoochee Review, and the Journal of Kentucky Studies among others. Carol has been program coordinator for the annual Blue Ridge Writers' Conference since its inception in 1996 and loves all things literary: books, bookstores, poetry, word puzzles and libraries.
Carol has been the presenter at the Red Clay Writer's Conference at Kennesaw State University and the Judge at the NCWN West Flash Fiction Contest. She currently is instructing at the Writer's Circle in Hayesville, NC and at the John C Campbell Folk School.
