Class will cover the basics of exposure, composition, lighting and camera function. The objective is for students to be able to gain basic photography skills and knowledge which will result in improvement in their images. The projects include; group shoots, hands-on camera instruction and image review. Students must have a basic knowledge of their camera’s operation and must have read the manual. The supply list includes your camera, manual, empty memory card and fully charged battery in each session.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Joyce originally studied photography at the University of Florida School of Journalism and worked as a newspaper photographer and reporter before moving on to magazine editing and freelance writing/photography. After moving to the North Georgia Mountains and being inspired by the surrounding beauty, Joyce decided to focus on nature photography and has shown her work in local and regional galleries as well as at juried fine art shows throughout the Southeast.
Joyce teaches photography and digital imaging classes and leads photography workshops in Georgia, North Carolina and Tennessee. She has self-published two textbooks on photography and one collection of her work. Joyce is a founding member and past president of Blue Ridge Mountains Photographers (BRMP), past board member of the Blue Ridge Arts Association, and former show director for the BRMP National Juried Photography Exhibit.
